How do I get my vaporizer to start?
I think my water has a very low mineral content, so I’m supposed add a couple pinches of salt. But I have no salt in the house. Can I add something else to the water to get it going? What exactly is it about salt that gets the water boiling?

To get it started you only need to fill with water, turn it on and let it heat up. There should be an instruction sheet. Some models allow you place aromatic oil near the steam spout. As to the salt, my understanding is that it prevents water from reaching a rolling boil. I think I have heard of that when boiling eggs.
