Finding the healthiest herbs to smoke is an easy task as most herbs available on the market are guaranteed to be safe, but the taste can range from absolutely horrid to the most pleasent and surprising tastes available. In my personal opinion, a plant by the name of Kanna is by far the best. The plant is indigenous to South Africa and has been acknowledged in text dating back to as early as the late 1600′s. It is best known for its unbelievably soothing and “narcotic” like affects, while remaining completely safe to human inhalation. It’s also been described as having a rather pungent smell, and even better taste. The taste has a somewhat spicy aftertaste, leaving the room with a warm, relaxing, soothing, and calm aroma. The taste, effects, and smell give the user a complete sense of awareness of their surroundings and peace of body, mind, and soul. And if for any reason the individual does not want to smoke, or physically can not due to a medical condition, the plant can be prepared in it’s natural dry form and chewed to receive the same effects. Once the user swallows his or her saliva after chewing, the effects are instantly notable in the mouth. The feeling is similar to the numbing sensation during a visit to the dentisit when a tooth must be dealt with. In fact the effects are so strong, that this magical herb is also used to slowly get alcoholics off the drink, and similarly so, heroin addicts off the needle.
The herb is best used on a full stomach, when the chemical compounds can fully bond with the food inside your stomach. However, even if your intentions are not to get any effects from a herbal smoke whatsoever, the natural herb of Kanna is sure to impress in it’s taste, and it’s ability to be completely safe to your body with no known side affects. Just be advised that Kanna should not be taken with any medication as this could result in unkown side affects and possibly death.
Many different herbal smokes are available on the market, with a litany of them being fake, with the herbs being mashed together with grass, and plants found in many gardens. I will tell you legitimate herbs that contain such exquisite characteristics that they are now being imported from exotic locations around the world such as Brazil, Malaysia, Thailand, Spain, Africa, India, Japan, and even from the outback of Australia. The first is the herb by the name of “Kratom,” beleived to be discovered in Thailand so far back in times that the actual records of it’s discovery have been lost in time. Creating a powerful aroma and numbing affect, being fairly cheap and accessible, and all while being extremely safe make it a great addition.
“Kratom” is also known to be extremely similar to “Kanna”, as some believe them to be comprised of a similar genetic make up. In addition to these two herbs, Damiana, a herb originating from Mexico, is also a notable herb in this line-up. Coming at an extremely low price of $10 an ounce due to it’s great abundance makes it a necessity to anyone who’s new to herbal smokes. Though I could go on for hours about the many great legal, tasty, cost affective, and best smelling herbal smokes on the market, these three in particular are an absolute must have for anyone looking for something new and exciting in the world of herbal smokes.

Pink lotus is well known for the euphoric effects it produces in people who smoke its dried petals and stamens, or who brew those constituents into a tea and drink it. As the author Tao Jones mentions in his article “The Land of the Lotus Smokers,” the effects of the pink lotus are predominately cerebral, producing feelings of pleasure that permeate the body.
In addition to generating euphoria, smoking pink lotus and drinking pink lotus concoctions can help calm the mind and reduce stress and anxiety. According to the psychoactive substances resource website The Vaults of Erowid, pink lotus is a mild sedative, which means it has a soothing, tranquilizing effect.
