Im wondering how to turn a vaporizer into a fog machine, i need to find out how to make larger amounts of fog come out.

That kind of vaporizer is not capable of creating an “Arena Rock” fog – just a little steam.

A block of dry ice in a shallow bucket of water will work better.

whats the difference between a humidifier and a vaporizer?
my 2yr old and 2 month old babys are sick. might be allergies, i don’t know. they sound conjested but have runny noses. should i use a humidifer or a vaporizer? whats the difference? do they still have a effect if we sleep with the cielling fan on? thanks.

A humidifier takes moisture OUT of the air, and vaporizer puts moisture INTO the air.
For your sick children, you want to ADD moisture to the air. The extra vapor helps them break up the congestion in their chest and to breathe better.
A ceiling fan just moves air around which does nothing to help your children breathe.
If you suspect allergies, then the most you can do is vaccuum and removed dust from your home daily.

whats the difference between the warm mist vicks vaporizer and the cool mist vaporizer?

The warm mist are not recommended because they breed germs. you are suppose to use cool only. I would go buy a cool one.

what is the point of running a vaporizer/humidifier while coughing?
i have a cough and my mom has been running the vaporizer/humidifier (whatever it is called!) and im wondering, what is the point of runniing one while sick and what is the point of elevating your head when you sleep.

if you cough out anything that could make someone else sick, it cleans it out of the air. also the humidity makes your throat feel better and more moist. if you elevate your head, it jsut helps you stop coughing… i dont know why but it does help.

When you have a cough it is helpful to keep the air around you moist to keep the mucus wet so it’s easier to cough up. If the environment is dry, the mucus is thicker and harder to cough out. Having mucus lingering around in your lungs makes you susceptible to other, more serious infections such as pneumonia. Elevating you head helps you breathe and also allows mucus to run down your throat versus sitting stagnate and allowing bacteria to multiply.
