Valerian Root in herbal cigarette?
I am aware that Valerian Root’s active chemicals are too volatile to be smoked, but I’m wondering if adding a little near the filter/coil tip of a cigarette blended with other smokeable herbs (skullcap, dmania, kava kava, indan warrior, etc) would in effect “vaporize” the valerian’s psychoactive compounds as the hot air and smoke passed through it, at least until the ember got too close.
Would this be feasible or a total waste of time and Valerian?
Also, anything along the lines of ‘omg smoking is bad for you!11!” is going to be ignored. I am quite aware of the carcinogens inherent in ALL smoke, and the risks associated with this are mine to accept. Also, I’m already a marijuana law reform advocate so “just smoke pot lol” will also be ignored. I already do.

Nothing mentioned is supposed to be smoked. You don’t care about it being bad for you or the risks. Can’t hurt anymore than smoking these other herbs that shouldn’t be smoked.

The vapor right out of a box style vaporizers can be a little hotter, but there is a lot of cooling as the vapor travels along the whip™ so it is generally okay for most people. What you can do is inhale slower if you find it hotter than you would like. That allows the vapor to cool longer.

Looking into purchasing a handheld vaporizer, either Magic Flight Box or Vapor Genie. Have never owned a vaporizer before so if anyone has advice on which is better that would be great. Portability isn’t as important to me as getting a good smoke.

The best herbalist encyclopedia to use with a vaporizer?
I have been researching the uses of herbs in place of modern medicines. My husband and I both are prescribed many different medications for various reasons including anxiety, PTSD, etc. Anyway, many of the side effects are so intolerable that we have both stopped taking our meds altogether. Replacing pills and chemicals with natural herbs that have been used for thousands of years seems like a no-brainer. Further research led me to decide that a vaporizer would be the easiest and most cost-efficient way to do this.
Long story short, I am looking for basically an herbal encyclopedia but one that not only has the herbs and their medicinal uses, but also info about how each vaporizes (what temp. to set the vaporizer to for each herb, etc.)
Is anyone else into this that can recommend a great book/encyclopedia on this?

Answer by Peetr Peetr the guy who invented the vapir has written some on vaporizing herbs and there’s some online lists of vapored herbs, at some of the other manufacturers websites, but it’s nowhere near as complete as you will want. Most herbal encyclopedia type references haven’t caught up with vaporizing yet.

You could show them the ad for it if you are using it as an aromatherapy but you better be prepared for them to use it so they can be assured you are not using it for drugs. I would be leary of allowing my teen to use this especially if I suspected them of uses drugs.
